Purdue Hillel Student Board

President: Ethan Hirsh– hirshe@purdue.edu

Ethan Hirsh is a junior from Boca Raton, Florida majoring in Mechanical Engineering Technology with a Minor in Construction Management. Ethan a Brother of the Pi Upsilon chapter of the Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity, where he serves on the Executive Board as the House Manager. Ethan is also a student in the Purdue Honors College.  Ethan is proud to be serving as the student President and is excited to make his positive impact on both Hillel and the Purdue Jewish community!

 

 

 

Vice President: Jonah Ross– ross239@purdue.edu

 Jonah Ross is a junior in Environmental and Ecological Engineering, originally from the Cleveland suburbs. Along with being on Hillel Student Board, he serves as the Director of Voter registration for Purdue College Democrats.

 

 

 

Treasurer: Sam Bortnick– sbortnic@purdue.edu

 Sam Bortnick is a junior from East Brunswick, New Jersey, majoring in Law and Society and Political Science with a minor in Forensics. In his spare time, he likes exercising with friends and bowling. He looks forward to contributing this year!

 

 

 

Secretary: Skyler Loundy– sloundy@purdue.edu

Skyler Loundy is a senior majoring in Psychological Sciences (psychology). She is from San Jose, California and is very proud to be the treasurer of the Hillel Student Board this year. Skyler wishes all students – new and returning – good things for this coming year.

 

  

 

Technology and Public Relations Chair: Alaina Bartfeld — abartfel@purdue.edu

Alaina Bartfeld is a junior from the San Francisco Bay Area, California majoring in Supply Chain, Information, and Analytics with a specialization in Business Analytics and a minor in Statistics. In this position, Alaina manages this website and aspects of community outreach. When she isn’t spending hours doing homework, Alaina loves to hangout with friends anywhere she can around campus. She is incredibly excited to be a returning member of the Hillel Student Board and loves contributing to the Jewish community on campus.

 

 

 

Religious Chair: Bailey Czerkiewicz– bczerkie@purdue.edu

Bailey Czerkiewicz is from Louisville, Kentucky, and is a senior in the department of biology studying genetics. In her spare time, she enjoys watching crime shows, reading, and crocheting. Bailey wants everyone to know that she is always open to talk and is happy to lend a friendly ear.

 

 

 

 FYSH Chair: Talia Hirsh– hirsht@purdue.edu

Talia Hirsch is a freshman studying Studying Supply Chain Management & Sales Engineering Technology in the Polytechnic Institute. She is from central New Jersey and is the FYSH chair at Hillel. Her role as FYSH chair is to get more freshmen involved in Jewish life and programs at Hillel and on campus. Talia loves to be active and outside when the weather is nice. Her favorite things to do are running and cycling. She spent her spring semester of junior year of high school studying abroad in Israel with the program NFTY Heller High, previously known as EIE. Other things she enjoys are hanging out with friends, eating bagels, and watching movies. 

 

 

 

 

Social Media Chair: Emily Sullins– esullins@purdue.edu

Emily Sullins is from Fort Wayne, Indiana, and is a junior with a major in Public Relations and Strategic Communication and a double minor in Spanish and Women’s Gender & Sexuality Studies.  She is also a content coordinator for Boiler Communication, a student-run public relations firm within the Brian Lamb School of Communication.  When she is not busy with homework, she enjoys cooking, impulse shopping, spending time with friends, and caring for her houseplants.  

 

 

Tzedek Chair: Lucas Stein — stein45@purdue.edu

Lucas Stein is a sophomore from Long Island, New York majoring in Computer Engineering with a minor in Mandarin Chinese. Lucas is a brother of the Pi Upsilon chapter of the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity where he currently serves as the head of the chapter website. He is also a member of the Purdue Stand-up Comedy Club and Act Natural Sketch Comedy.

 

 

Social Chair: Ronni Sharpe — sharpe20@purdue.edu

Ronni Sharpe is a freshman studying Brain and Behavioral Sciences and Sociology! She is organically from Israel but lives in the California Bay Area. Playing and coaching lacrosse and drawing are her main hobbies when she is not planning activities as Hillel’s Social Chair!

 

  

 

 

Special Advisor: Solomon Blinchevsky  — sblinche@purdue.edu

Solomon Blinchevsky is a sophomore studying Mechanical Engineering, with minors in Math and Intellectual Property Law. Solomon is from Louisville, Kentucky, and is a brother of the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity. He serves as a liaison between Hillel and Chabad, and also assists Hillel in grant writing. When he’s not studying or teaching second graders how to multiply fractions, he enjoys playing guitar and writing/translating music.
