President: Ethan Hirsh — hirshe@purdue.edu

Ethan Hirsh is a senior from Boca Raton, Florida majoring in Mechanical Engineering Technology with a Minor in Construction Management. Ethan a Brother of the Pi Upsilon chapter of the Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity, where he serves on the Executive Board as the House Manager. Ethan is also a student in the Purdue Honors College.  Ethan is proud to be serving as the student President and is excited to make his positive impact on both Hillel and the Purdue Jewish community!

 


Vice President: Jonah Ross — ross239@purdue.edu

Jonah Ross is a Senior from Shaker Heights, Ohio studying Environmental and Ecological Engineering. He is also minoring in Environmental Politics and Policy and pursuing a certificate in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Along with his involvement at Hillel, Jonah is also helping with the effort to push Purdue to adapt a Carbon Neutrality plan. In his free time, Jonah enjoys watching sports, both Purdue and Cleveland, running, and hanging out with friends.

Talia Hirsch is a sophomore studying Supply Chain Management & Sales Engineering Technology in the Polytechnic Institute. She is from central New Jersey and is currently both the Treasurer and FYSH Chair at Hillel. Her goal as FYSH Chair is to get more freshmen involved in Jewish life and programs at Hillel and on campus. Her goal as Treasurer is to become more involved behind the scenes by focusing on facilitating funding for activities and helping the president on different accounts. Talia loves to be active and outside when the weather is nice. Her favorite things to do are running and cycling. She spent her spring semester of junior year of high school studying abroad in Israel with the program NFTY Heller High, previously known as EIE. Her favorite event at Hillel is the weekly bagel break, where she gets to hang out with friends and have mediocre bagels in Indiana.

Isabel Reynolds (she/her) is a rising junior studying History & Russian (with minors in Disability and Jewish Studies). She is from Northwest Indiana by way of Morgan Park, Chicago. Isabel also serves as Secretary of Purdue MANRRS and Treasurer of Purdue Russian Club. After Purdue, Isabel plans to move abroad to pursue a Master’s and PhD in Eastern and Central European Studies.  

 

 

Technology Chair: Alaina Bartfeld — abartfel@purdue.edu

Alaina Bartfeld (she/her) is a senior from the San Francisco Bay Area, California majoring in Supply Chain, Information, and Analytics with a specialization in Business Analytics and a minor in Statistics. In this position, Alaina manages this website and is currently working on introducing a new database on the backend. When she isn’t spending hours doing homework, Alaina loves to hangout with friends anywhere she can around campus. She is incredibly excited to be a returning member of the Hillel Student Board and loves contributing to the Jewish community on campus.

Social Media Chair: Emily Sullins — esullins@purdue.edu

Emily Sullins is from Fort Wayne, Indiana, and is a senior majoring in Public Relations & Strategic Communication with a double minor in Spanish and Women’s Gender & Sexuality Studies. She is also the Lead Copywriter for Boiler Communication, a student-run public relations agency within the Brian Lamb School of Communication. When she is not busy with homework, she enjoys cooking, thrift shopping, and spending time with friends. 

 

Special Advisor: Solomon Blinchevsky — sblinche@purdue.edu

Solomon Blinchevsky is a junior studying Mechanical Engineering, with minors in Math and Intellectual Property Law. Solomon is from Louisville, Kentucky, and is a brother of the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity. He serves as a liaison between Hillel and Chabad, and also assists Hillel in grant writing. When he’s not studying or teaching second graders how to multiply fractions, he enjoys playing guitar and writing/translating music.

Tzedek Chair: Remy Carrella — acarrell@purdue.edu

Remi Carrella is from Randolph, New Jersey and is a sophomore studying Agricultural Business with a minor in Jewish Studies and a Certificate of Entrepreneurship. He is a brother of the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity, where he serves as both the Philanthropy and Rush chair. On campus, Remi works at the Purdue research vineyard and winery, and is a member of the Purdue Beekeeping Club. In his free time, Remi enjoys golfing, beekeeping, spending time outdoors, and being with friends.
