Hillel Student Board


President: Ayelet Bernstein– bernstea@purdue.edu

Ayelet Bernstein is a Junior in the College of Education, majoring in Elementary Education. She is passionate about her Jewish identity, and has loved being a member of the Hillel since her freshman year. In her day to day, Ayelet serves as a Senator for the college of education, an ambassador for the college of education, and a music teacher at the local religious school (LJCRS). Ayelet is excited to get to know as many PurJews as possible!


Vice-President: Ethan Hirsh– hirshe@purdue.edu

Ethan Hirsh is a sophomore from Boca Raton, Florida majoring in Mechanical Engineering Technology with a Minor in Construction Management and entrepreneurship. Ethan a Brother of the Pi Upsilon chapter of the Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity, where he serves as the House Improvement Chair and Jewish Identity/Engagement Chair. Ethan is also a student in the Purdue Honors College.  Ethan is proud to be serving as the student Vice President and is excited to make his positive impact on both Hillel and the Purdue Jewish community!


Social Chair: Jonah Ross– ross239@purdue.edu

Jonah Ross is a sophomore in Environmental and Ecological Engineering, originally from the Cleveland suburbs. Along with being on Hillel Student Board, he serves as the Director of Voter registration for Purdue College Democrats.


Religious Chair: Bailey Czerkiewicz– bczerkie@purdue.edu

Bailey Czerkiewicz is from Louisville, Kentucky, and is a junior in the department of biology studying genetics. In her spare time, she enjoys watching crime shows, reading, and crocheting. Bailey wants everyone to know that she is always open to talk and is happy to lend a friendly ear!


First Year Students @ Hillel (FYSH) Chair: Seth Kreisler— skreisle@purdue.edu 

Seth Kreisler is a Junior in the Lyles School of Civil Engineering getting his Bachelor of Science in CE with a focus in transportation. He is from the suburbs of New York City. Seth is very involved with Purdue Bands and can talk about sports 24/7. He is also the current president of the club Israel Council at Purdue.


Social Media Chair: Emily Sullins– esullins@purdue.edu

Emily Sullins is from Fort Wayne, Indiana, and is a sophomore studying Pre-Communications. Emily intends to focus on Public Relations and Strategic Communication, with a double minor in Spanish and Management. When she is not busy with homework, Emily enjoys going to the gym, watching Game of Thrones, and browsing the Internet.  She also enjoys traveling when given the chance to study and tour abroad!


Tzedek Chair: Samantha Barter– sbarter@purdue.edu

Samantha Barter is a sophomore from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, majoring in Hospitality and Tourism Management, with a concentration in environmental sustainability. Samantha looks forward to serving on the Hilllel board this year and getting to know all of our new members.


Treasurer: Skyler Loundy– sloundy@purdue.edu

Skyler Loundy is a Junior majoring in Psychological Sciences (psychology). She is from San Jose, California and is very proud to be the treasurer of the Hillel Student Board this year. Skyler wishes all students – new and returning – good things for this coming year.

Secretary: Natalie Grober– ngrober@purdue.edu

Natalie Grober is a junior studying Planetary Science and Technical Writing with a minor in Jewish Studies. This is Natalie’s first year serving on the Hillel board, but she is eager to make an impact in her community by facilitating swift communication between board members and Hillel visitors. Last summer Natalie interned for the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space museum and aspires to work for NASA next summer.

Technology Chair: Alaina Bartfeld — abartfel@purdue.edu

Alaina Bartfeld is a sophomore from the San Francisco Bay Area, California majoring in Supply Chain, Information, and Analytics pursuing the Business Analytics track and the Management Information Systems track. In this positon, Alaina manages this website. Alaina is extremely dedicated to her academics and is quite involved on campus. Other than serving Hillel as the Technology Chair, she serves on the Data Mine Executive Board as Treasurer, holds an undergraduate research internship position, and is a member of Krannert’s own Operations and Supply Chain Organization. When she isn’t spending hours doing homework, Alaina loves to hangout with friends anywhere she can around campus. She is incredibly excited to be a part of the Hillel Student Board and looks forward to where this position will take her.
