Ethan Hirsh

Ethan Hirsh

President

Ethan Hirsh is a senior from Boca Raton, Florida majoring in Mechanical Engineering Technology with a Minor in Construction Management. Ethan is also a student in the Purdue Honors College. 

 

Ethan a Brother of the Pi Upsilon chapter of the Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity, where he serves on the Executive Board as the House Manager.

 

Ethan is proud to be serving as the student President and is excited to make his positive impact on both Hillel and the Purdue Jewish community!

Jonah Ross

Vice President

Jonah Ross is a Senior from Shaker Heights, Ohio studying Environmental and Ecological Engineering. He is also minoring in Environmental Politics and Policy and pursuing a certificate in Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

 

Along with his involvement at Hillel, Jonah is also helping with the effort to push Purdue to adapt a Carbon Neutrality plan.

 

In his free time, Jonah enjoys watching sports, both Purdue and Cleveland, running, and hanging out with friends.

Isabel Reynolds

Isabel Reynolds

Secretary

Isabel Reynolds is a senior from Hebron, IN. After 2 major changes, Isabel has settled on History with minors in Critical Disability Studies and Russian.

After Purdue, Isabel plans to take a year off before pursuing a PhD in Disability Studies or Medical Anthropology.

Isabel is also the Web Development Intern for Fall 2021 and has designed this website in addition to building Hillel's Linktree and Discord server.

You can usually find Isabel in Hillel's kitchen prepping Gluten Free & Vegan Challah and desserts!

Talia Hirsch

Treasurer

Talia Hirsch is a sophomore studying Supply Chain Management & Sales Engineering Technology in the Polytechnic Institute. She is from central New Jersey.

 

Her goal as Treasurer is to become more involved behind the scenes by focusing on facilitating funding for activities and helping the president on different accounts.

 

Talia loves to be active and outside when the weather is nice. Her favorite things to do are running and cycling. She spent her spring semester of junior year of high school studying abroad in Israel with the program NFTY Heller High, previously known as EIE.

 

Her favorite event at Hillel is the weekly bagel break, where she gets to hang out with friends and have mediocre bagels in Indiana.

Talia Hirsch

Alaina Bartfeld

Techology Chair

Alaina Bartfeld is a senior from the San Francisco Bay Area. She is graduating in December 2021 with a major in Supply Chain, Information, and Analytics in Krannert School of Management, with a minor in Statistics.

She is the Technology Chair for Purdue Hillel. Branching from this role, she also serves independently as a Database Management Intern implementing a database she designed for tracking Hillel’s donations.

 

Upon graduation, Alaina will work full-time for a semiconductor manufacturing company back home in the Bay Area, CA as a Data Scientist.

Emily Sullins

External Communications Chair

Emily Sullins is from Fort Wayne, Indiana, and is a senior majoring in Public Relations & Strategic Communication with a double minor in Spanish and Women’s Gender & Sexuality Studies.

 

She is also the Lead Copywriter for Boiler Communication, a student-run public relations agency within the Brian Lamb School of Communication.

 

When she is not busy with homework, she enjoys cooking, thrift shopping, and spending time with friends.

Raphael Rose

Religious Chair

My name is Raphael Rose, I am majoring in Landscape Architecture.

 

I grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana. I went to a Jewish high school in Houston, Texas and then spent a gap year at a Yeshivah in the old city of Jerusalem in Israel.

 

I love to do art, as well as most sports including different martial arts. I grew up as a Religious Jew and love to teach others about that world of Judaism.

Mia Gilbert

Freshman Engagement Chair

Mia Gilbert is a Freshman from Maplewood/South Orange, New Jersey. She is currently studying Civil Engineering and plans on focusing in Structural Engineering.

Mia is excited to start a new chapter of her life that involves further Jewish involvement and practice. She intends to reach out through Hillel to grow Jewish community on campus. Helping other first year students explore and enjoy it as much as her.

In her free time, Mia enjoys being with friends, stopping by Hillel, cooking, and outdoor activities.
